 Metroland Ski Club is a family friendly club with members from all over the Northeast. We have members in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Our motto is Ski More For Less and that's what you'll do as a member. Come take some turns with us. Jackson Hole or Madonna di Campiglio for lots of fun. $30 lift tickets at Belleayre on special Saturdays and Sundays this winter will help us train, build strength and get ready for big Mtn fun. We will visit Belleayre before we go to Italy, Austria & Jackson Hole. We are essentially getting tuned up at a great eastern Mtn thats close to home.  Join us for some great Mtn fun.

 Metroland Takes First Place                                                               
Hey Skiers & Riders,
 Metroland’s race team took home a whole lot of gold at the New York Ski Council race at Pico on Saturday January 26th. Congratulations and thanks to Linda, Amy, Gina, Amanda, Michael, Carl, John, Chris, Stefan, James, Jacob, & Chris who took home a combined 18 medals. Metroland took home The Ronald Palmedo Trophy in the Main Event for First Place Team. Gina J. won the Woman’s Ski Association Trophy for First Place Woman in the Main Event. Carl S. won the Eric Sand Trophy for First Place Veteran Man in the Main. Chris J. took the Allan Potts Memorial Trophy for Fastest Man. Amy & Stefan B. took first place in the Husband & Wife team in the Giant Slalom Main. Overall we had more than 30 members show up to support the Council race for the fund raiser this year. It was a great day. Thanks to all who participated.

The Connecticut Ski Councils kids’ day was held at Mt Southington on Sunday January 27. It was a huge success with nearly 200 children participating. It turned out to be a beautiful day with great snow and lots of happy kids. Thanks to all those who have volunteered to make this program what it is today.

The next big event is the CSC’s On Snow Winter Carnival at Mt Snow March 1- 3. It’s a three day on snow mountain extravaganza featuring all kinds of fun.

The Connecticut Ski Councils Annual On Snow weekend will be held at Mt Snow March 1, 2, & 3. It’s a great three-day weekend with lots of activities for everyone including a ski rally, on snow volley ball, cross country, and racing. A Saturday night dinner dance with a DJ is being subsidized by the Council. Dinner prices are $30 for adults and $14 for juniors. Registration and pre-payment required. You should think about heading up to Mt Snow for the CSC’s On Snow weekend.

The CSC racing league continues at Mt Southington on Monday nights. The New Jersey league meets at Mountain Creek on Wednesday nights. See the Council websites for additional information.

 On our Discount Lift Ticket Page you will find specially priced Council Awareness & Appreciation Days. These special days are a terrific way to get out to the best mountains for about about half price. Metroland also has advance sale lift tickets with no black out dates at substantially discounted rates. Members have nearly 2,000 possible lift ticket discounts. * Thanks to all who made last year so much fun. Our trips to Belleayre, Switzerland, Aspen & Snowmass were phenomenal. It was a great season and we are looking forward to more of the same. For 2019 we are headed to Europe to spend February break at Innsbruck Austria. In early March we will head west to the great Rocky Mountains to ski and ride Jackson Hole. For our Spring fling we will wrap up the season with the clubs first trip to Madonna Di Campilglio, Italy. Lift tickets at Belleayre are $30 for our club trips this year!. We will start the season there to build the strength for the season. See you soon in December. 

Metroland Ski Club Scholarship for High School Seniors

To recognize and promote academic achievement, community service and the love of our sport, Metroland Ski Club is pleased to continue its Scholarship program. A Scholarship/Grant of $250 will be awarded to a High School Senior in May to use as he or she sees fit. 

 The Scholarship is open to any High School Senior who is a member or whose parent or grand parent is a member of the club. To be eligible, applicants need to submit their latest report card, a one-page resume and an essay (250 words or less) on "What Skiing or Riding means to me". 

 Submit your paperwork in a single email to Metrolandskiclub@gmail.com with the subject line "Scholarship". Applications must be received by April 15th 2019.

 We want to congratulate Quinn M of Oradell, NJ who won the Metroland Ski Club Scholarship this year. Quinn will pursue a degree in criminal justice. Congratulations Quinn !
